New Year's Eve 2012

Happy New Year's Eve! Today, I caught one of my best waves of the entire year.

It. Was. Sooooooooooooooo. Loooooong. And perfectly shaped.

Here's a video from today's session at an undisclosed location somewhere in California. It was not my best wave of the session, but it was a pretty fun one.

"Um,  I'd rather go to the North Shore of Hawaii," I say.

His reply was basically N-okay, with A LOT more words.

"You can come with me to HAWAII...." I plead.

"Oh okay, fine I'll make you a ticket to the place you want to go," says Gio.

He's amazingly helpful.  He didn't even whine. Very much.

And it only cost me one candy bar. Granted it is a gynormous candy bar.

"We bought you a lunchable at the the store, yesterday," Gio says to Vinny.

"Great!" says Vinny. "Where is it?"

"In the fridge," I say.

"I don't see it," says Vinny rummaging through the fridge.

I check myself, but it's not there.

"Maybe Nana took it for lunch," I say.

Three days later.

We found missing the missing Lunchable....... in the back of the car.

All I Want For Christmas!

"Can we go to Target so I can show you what I want for Christmas?" pleads Gio.

"You can just show me on the Internet," I say, hoping to avoid the trip to Target.

"I really need to show you in person," explains Gio.

"Oh, okay," I say. "But I'm not BUYING anything."

But that doesn't stop him from asking, "Will just get me this one thing, please?"

"No," I say one thousand times before leaving the store without anything for Gio.

Merry Christmas

Last night we went to a potluck for my Mom's diabetic support group, where they serve sugar free margaritas. Just kidding.

Anyways, everyone had to introduce the person sitting to their right, and say something about them that people might now know.

Gio got to introduce me and here's how it went down:

"Do I say my name and then your name?" asks Gio.

"Vinny is going to introduce you, and he will tell everyone your name so you don't have to," I explain. "You just introduce me."

Then he proceeded to nervously ask me 100 times if he had to say his own name before it was his turn.......

When it was finally Gio's time to introduce me he says, "This is my Mom, Wendy. She likes to vacuum."

Um...................

Help!

"Hey, do you want to go grocery shopping with me?" I beg Hubby.

"Not really," answers Hubby.

"I don't want to go alone," I whine.

"I'll go with you!" offers Vinny eagerly.

And he did. He was extremely helpful, loading up the cart with water, pancake mix and pie, as well as pushing it around the store. It's nice having help schlepping millions of pounds of groceries.

And by almond milk, I mean TEQUILA.

"Hurry up, then," says Hubby.

"Okay, I'm ready," I say after taking my medication.

"I can't get it," says Hubby. "I'm going to need a bigger needle."

"In that case, I'm going to need more almond milk..........."

It turns out one of the kitties, Luna Mew, is allergic to the new litter.

By allergic, I mean she shoots out 5 inch long green strings of snot upon one whiff of the WRONG and apparently dusty, LITTER.

"We need to rent some movies during break from when Daddy and I were kids," I say to Vinny.

"There weren't any good movies when you were a kid, Mom," says Vinny.

"Sure there were," I say. "You liked "The Sandlot" movie," I say.

"I don't think The Sandlot was a movie when you guys were kids," says Vinny.

"Yes, it was, I think?" I say.

"They had color back then?" wonders Vinny in amazement. I thought it was all black and white.

Note: To be honest, "The Sandlot," came out in 1993, when I wasn't exactly a kid at 25, but I wasn't exactly a grown up either, though technically I was an adult. And, "The Goonies," which came out in 1985, when I was a kid, was definitely in color.....So there.

Janet Evanovich Wicked Series

While I was painting the bathroom FOR FIVE DAYS, I needed some entertainment. I found it in the "Wicked Series," by Janet Evanovich.

There are only two books, Wicked Appetite and Wicked Business, in the series so far.

But with main characters like Lizzy,  who bakes enchanted cupcakes, and her magical and studyly costar, Diesel, there are sure to be more books on the way.

The books are not great literature. But they are full of fun and oddball characters including a monkey named Carl, who says, "Eeeeeeee," and gives nearly everyone the finger.

The series got me through five days of painting. What more could a gal ask for?

I wouldn't say the books are worth paying $8.99 a piece, but here are the links for them on kindle, anyways. I got them FREE from the online library, which more people should take advantage of, if they aren't already because with a library card and a pin, it's easy and FREE.
