What The Fox Say
Kids laughing hysterically in another room.
"What are you guys watching?" I ask.
"What the fox say," answer both kids giggling.
"What's it called? I ask again.
Because when they said "what the fox say," it sounded a lot like "what the f*&k say," to me.
And now what the fox say is stuck in my head. And what does the fox say anyways?

Skateboarding The Puppy
Toby needs lots of exercise because he's a puppy. We've been putting in about 4-5 miles a day. Some miles are done with walks, others are done on the skateboard.
Exercise makes a huge difference in his behavior. And by difference I mean calm, relaxed puppy versus crazy, cat-chasing, jumping on people, puppy.
Phew!

I was looking forward to buying cupcakes for Gio's class party. But he wanted me to make brownies instead. So much for underachieving.
Has it only been 8 years?

Ice Cream Truck
Hubby needs a car. And I really want a dog. Sort of. I think. Maybe. Probably not. See, I like the idea of dog, but not the responsibility. Dogs are a fun a idea, but in reality they are a lot of work and love and work.
"I have a great idea!" shouts Gio. "Dad can get you a dog, and you can get him an ice cream truck."
Somehow I think I'm getting the short end of the popsicle stick here.

Challenge Day
Every school should have a Challenge Day, an anti-bullying program, that strives to make children feel loved and safe by "celebrating diversity, truth and full expression."
Challenge Day Motto: Be the change you want to see in the world. (Ghandi)
Sounds good, right?
I have heard about Challenge Day for years, from Hubby who volunteers every year. I have to say I have even more respect for ALL the teachers who volunteer for this, EMOTIONAL, life changing event. And by emotional I mean crying. Lots and lots of crying. Because after all that crying, the teachers still have to lesson plan, grade papers and go to work the next day.
Thank you teachers!
Anyways, when we got the flyer asking for volunteers for challenge day, I immediately say, "I am so volunteering for this!"
"You are?" asks the Huz.
"Yeah, why do you say it like that?" I ask. Because when you aren't sure of your answer it's always best to answer with a question for clarification purposes.
Apparently, the Huz has the same philosophy because he answers with, "Are you SURE you want to do that?"
"Yeah, I was made for Challenge Day!" I say.
"Okay.............." says infusing one word with more doubt than my friend Thomas ever could.
And I was really good at Challenge Day, especially the crying. I'm glad I volunteered, and I'm appreciative of being able to sleep for 2 hours afterwards. Thanks Huz.

Home Phillip Phillips
If you get lost, you can always be found - Home
I love the words in this song! Because it's true. If you get lost you can always be found. Especially if you ask for DIRECTIONS. And by directions, I mean help. (I'm not just talking to the guys, here, ladies.)
That's why were all here anyways, right? To lend our fellow brothers and sisters assistance when they're down on the ground and need a hand up from that low place in life.
So go ahead and ask for help today. It's okay.
P.S. You may have to ask more than one person..........

September 2013!
I absolutely adore the month of September No more @KarlTheFog (crosses fingers) hanging over my head. Yes, the weather is warm and fabulous, and the North West swells start to come alive in my wet dreams. And there's this song.
Thank you for being you, September! I love you!

Stinky Socks
Thena Mew Kitty loves the Huz so much she wants his stinky socks all over her forcing Gio and I to ask, "How stinky are your socks?"
"Sniff, sniff."
"Um, they don't even smell," I say.
"Yeah," agrees Gio.

Sick Day
Four days into school and Gio is home sick. Poor guy was sick all weekend, with a high fever, nearly 104 at one point, a tummy ache and runny poo masquerading as farts.
What's better than chicken noodle soup when you're sick? Nothing I could think of so I made some for both of us.
As we're sitting there eating Gio points out, "Mom you just slurped!"
"Um, I did?" I say, surprised.
"How come we can't slurp and you can?" asks Gio. "So we have to follow your rules, but you don't? That's not fair!"
Busted.

Skunk!
5:30 a.m.
I was so excited our geriatric, deaf, insomniac dog slept through the night that I forgot to check for skunks before taking her outside to water the plants....
Da da da!
"Oh no," I stammer. "Oh no. Ally, Ally, puhleeeeeeease come here! Come on girl."
"What's going on?" asks Hubby.
"There's a skunk in the backyard RIGHT NEXT TO ALLY," I manage to get out.
"I knew there was a skunk living out there!" says Hubby, in that 'Aha!' voice.
"Um, when were you going to tell me we have a house guest?" I ask, annoyed.
"I did tell you," claims Hubby.
"No, you didn't," I say. "You said there was a skunk in the backyard the other night. Which is a lot different than there's a skunk living in our backyard, or even vacationing there for the summer."
Meanwhile the dog and the skunk are about 5 feet from each other dancing IN THE BACKYARD. And by dancing I mean the dog is pooping and the skunk is waddling around looking for an escape route.
By this point I'm starting to wonder if they've been married for 20 years by the way they're comfortably ignoring each other. Based on past experience, the skunk should have sprayed the dog by this time
Exhibit A Exhibit B
Hubby, now in full rescue hero mode, leaps past me into the yard despite my attempts to block his heroics.
"Where are they going to live when the skunk sprays them?" I ask the cats?
"Outside," purr the Cats.
Hubby attempts to grab the dog, who is in mid-crap.
She falls to the ground wondering, "What the hell is wrong with this guy? Can't an old lady dog go to the bathroom in peace anymore?"
Apparently not.
"What's all this clapping in my house and who are these annoying people?" wonders Fred the Skunk. "I think I need to defend myself!"
Then Fred the Skunk lifts his tail and does an A Butt Face towards Hubby and the dog.
Hubby scoops the dog into his arms, which the dog is attempting to bite in order to regain her freedom.
He then tries to run into the house craddling the snapping dog, but I'm blocking their escape, furiously sniffing the air to be sure no one has been sprayed before I let them through the doorway. Amazingly, the air smells skunkless.
"Wow, that is the nicest skunk, ever," I say.
Ten Minutes Later
"Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz," snore Hubby and the Dog.

The Skinny Mirror
Hey Internet! My BFF designed and made a skinny mirror, a mirror that makes you look 5-10 lbs thinner and 1-2 taller. She was inspired to do this after after having a bad 3-year relationship with a mirror that made her look wider and shorter than she really was. It was like having a boyfriend that said, "Yeah those pants do make your butt look big!"
We look in the mirror everyday, as we get dressed, and walk around the house. Why settle for a regular mirror when you can have a skinny mirror that makes you feel better and pays you a compliment every time you gaze into it? The skinny mirror gives a slimming reflection of yourself, embedding that image into your subconscious.
Some people say, "Yeah, but I'm just tricking myself with a skinny mirror."
But that's missing the entire point and purpose of the skinny mirror. The skinny mirror is a living vision board allowing gazers to see weight loss results before they happen, by inspiring you to exercise and eat right.
Please check out my BFF's kickstarter project and pledge today. Any pledge amount is appreciated, but pleadging $105 actually gets you a skinny mirror. As with all kickstarter projects the entire goal of $100,000.00 must be pledged for the project to funded. Please share this with your friends and family, acquaintances and the entire world RIGHT NOW!.
