The Closet Is Falling

Several Weeks Ago

"Honey, I think this closet bar is going to break," I say.

"Nah," says Hubby. "It's fine."

I wouldn't call this a psychic premonition because the closet bar, from which way too many clothes are hanging, is bowing.

Today

I go to hang up the boys' clothes, when the closet bar and hundreds of pounds of clothing comes crashing down with it. But hubby was right, the bar didn't break, it actually ripped out of the wall, which is basically the same thing, in my opinion.

I'll skip the entire, "Why won't you listen to me?" lecture, which I'm thinking of recording so I can just press "play," in the future.............

Luckily, I didn't have to wait until Summer vacation for Hubby to fix it. He actually fixed it the same day it broke. My Inner Laundress is eternally grateful.

Today, Gio was doing bellyflops at the pool ON PURPOSE.

"I love bellyflops," claims Gio before the plunging sting.

Internet, I promise Gio does not get his love of bellyflopping from me.

Day Off

"Mom, you should take the day off tomorrow," suggests Vinny.

"What do you mean by take the day off?" I ask. "Does that mean I shouldn't even surf?"

"Yeah, you should just lay around and relax," instructs Vinny.

My idea of laying around relaxing is surfing until my arms are Jello. And that's exactly what I'm going to do. :)

Passed Out on the Floor

Internet, Nadia Dog is passed out on the floor. She's even sleeping through the noisy vacuum cleaner. Somebody ate too much kibble today. (Shakes head)

Flip Socks

Flip flops with socks are looked down upon by nearly everyone. But some people still make this fashion blunder despite the peer pressure to go sockless in sandals.

"For goodness sake just wear shoes if you need to wear socks," says one Sandals With Socks Hater.

"But my feet are cold and I'm too lazy to put on shoes," I say in defense.

The only problem wearing flip flops with socks that I can see is the sandal thong between the toes pulls the sock on too tightly creating premature holes in the socks' toes.........

Change In The Weather

Last week the waves were so gooood!  The weather not so much. But who cares about the gloomy coastal marine layer after 8 glutinous days of epic surf? Not I.

This week the weather has been awesome. The waves not so much, and I'm feeling kind of depressed. Sob.

Indian Summer

It's October and we're enjoying our four days of Indian Summer at the pool.

"I, I love you like a love song, baby," I sing while simulatneously gyrating.

"You don't know the tune to that song," comments Gio, who is, apparently, one of the judges on next season's American Idol.

Who can compete with Alvin and the Chipmonks? Probably Elmo, and I know it. Or Cookie Monster, Maybe.
