TNT AC/DC
Tweet This
"Okay, one more song before bedtime," says Hubby to the boys.
And by one song he means AC/DC's "TNT."
Is it a guy thing to rile the kids up 3:57 minutes BEFORE they go to bed?
Then two minutes after, "TNT I'm dynamite....watch me EXPLODE!" ask in a complaint rock voice, "Why the %$#! wont these kids go to sleep?"
Um.
Oh well. At least, somebody knows why the kids have a hard time falling asleep at night. And by somebody I mean me.
In the meantime, I'll be hiding in the bathroom if you need me. I would like to participate, but it sounds like a slam pit out there. And I'm a little afraid for my life, or at least my limbs.

Sick Day
Tweet This"Dad! I dont feel good!" yells Gio at 3 in the morning startling us out of bed.
"Get the bucket!" I command.
It was already in the bedroom thankfully.
Soundtrack playing loudly in the foreground: Violent, vomitous wretching sounds.Unfortunately, the bucket got to the bed a pile of barf late. Thank goodness for washing machines. And yes I scooped the vomit off the sheets before sticking them in the washer.
Ew!!!!!!!The vomit went on intermittently for the next four hours, but now seems to be taking a break. Phew.
Poor Gio.

The Golden Globe Awards 2013
Tweet ThisI woke up this morning to discover Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the Golden Globe Awards last night.
And. I. Missed. It.
Wah.
"Hey girl," whispers Ryan Gosling in my ear. "You can watch The Golden Globes WHENEVER you want at nbc.com."
Ok, thanks Ryan.
Also, Jodie Foster, looking stunning at 50, gave an inspiring and heartfelt acceptance speech. The end brought me to tears when Foster pays tribute to her Mother who has been stricken with dementia.
Sob.

Jim Cox Adventures
Tweet This
Thanks to the immense popularity of the Hunger Games and even the animated movie "Brave, whose main characters are expert archers, the sport of archery is gaining in popularity.
I myself was lucky enough to attend a high school where archery, with real bows and arrows, was part of the Phys Ed program. Or maybe I was just lucky my fellow classmates never accidentally struck me with an arrow?
If you're looking for archery lessons in the Monterey Peninsula area, they can be taken every Saturday at Jim Cox Adventures in Salinas, California.

The bull kelp vodoo head, topping the tree, is what makes this California beach Christmas tree authentic.
