"I've been unemployed for six months," says one of my surfing buddies between waves.
"Wow, that's lucky!" I screech. "You couldn't have picked a better time to be unemployed."
"I know," he says.
While the economy has been one of the worst in years, the last six months or more has produced the BEST surf I've ever seen. It's a perfect time to be a jobless surfer, or a surf Mama with both kids in school.

Seriously, I have never seen waves this good for this long. Besides, he wasn't homeless or anything terrible and he's starting a new job soon.
